You can
FIGHT HIGH ENERGY CO$T
$ave Money & Live more Safely and Comfortably
Would
you purposely throw $ 50.00, $ 75.00, $
100.00
or more away in the trash can each month ?
Of
course you wouldn't, but your home or office may be doing exactly that
without your knowledge. It's no secret that heating and
cooling
cost ( energy cost / utility bills ) have been on the rise over the
past 10 - 15 years. A big part of the money you are paying is actually
for
wasted energy due to ineffective or insufficient insulation, maybe as
much as 20% - 30 %.
A wise
person like you knows that's not very smart to waste money. You
work
too hard to earn it, so it doesn't make good sense to throw it away
paying for needlessly wasted energy. After all, the power companies
have a lot more money than you or I, so I do not feel that we need to
give them any more than what is absolutely necessary. It is my opinion
that we should
all do whatever we can to reduce our energy consumption and stop paying
the power companies for needlessly wasted energy, and besides for our
own good, we really should do everything we can to reduce our C0 2
emmissions wherever we can. Using less energy will help to do this.
Even if we get a mild winter or a cool summer from
time to time, historically, energy cost are rising. Don't believe me ?,
just dig up your old utility bills and look at them, you will see that you are not
only paying more now
for electricity, natural gas, heating oil, etc. than you were just a
few years ago, but you are
using more. So don't get
lulled into a false sense of security by a mild season or two! You can
$ave a lot during mild seasons, and SAVE A LOT MORE during the colder
and hotter seasons.
So the question is "
How do you as the homeowner, business owner control and lower these
cost and should you do something
about it now ?
ANSWER =
Yes you should !, and you should DO IT NOW ! - Reason is simple.
You will still save
money during mild winters and summers, and will save even more during
harsh / cold winters and hot summers. -- and you should have a little
extra cash to make these energy improvements during these mild times
since you don't have to pay as much to the electric, nat'l gas, heating
oil, etc. company.
Let's look at
what you might have already done to lower those high
energy co$t. You most likely have followed the good advise given by
multiple sources, such as caulking & weather stripping around all
your doors and windows. You may have even changed your windows to more
energy efficient ones. You may have also added more batt or blown in
ceiling insulation.
Installed "set back " thermostats, everything you thought would help.
This I am sure has helped somewhat, but has doing all of this helped
enough? Perhaps not, as many have found out by virtue of higher overall
energy cost. It's just that all those measures of added ceiling
insulation, new
windows, caulk and weather stripping, etc just can do so much, and in
many cases, not nearly enough.
The problem is that NONE of these
measures DEAL
with the
REALLY BIG, MOST DIRECT CAUSE of heating and cooling cost. The
REAL PROBLEM is RADIANT HEAT TRANSFER.
The biggest part of HEAT LOSS in winter
is by RADIATIONAL
HEAT
LOSS through roofs, ceilings, walls and floors. It's also the
largest part of HEAT GAIN in summer. ( see
charts on linked page )
It's a basic
function of Physics, these energy improvements such as adding more
fiberglass or cellulose insulation stops heat loss
and heat gain by CONDUCTION
and CONVECTION, but
have little or no effect on Radiational Heat
Transfer.
Here is where we can help. Our BTUFOIL REFLECTIVE
INSULATION & BTUBUSTER
RADIANT BARRIER products are specifically
designed to STOP
96% - 97 % of the
Radiational Heat Loss and
Radiational Heat Gain,
in addition to helping to control heat
loss and heat gain by convection and conduction. Our
BTUFOIL REFLECTIVE
INSULATION & BTUBUSTER
RADIANT BARRIER products
stop heat transfer in ALL
THREE MODES
OF TRANSFER, Season after Season, Year after Year.
