Reflective Ruff Rap (RRR) represents the next generation in house wrap technology. This revolutionary new product offers the construction industry a durable weather-resistant house wrap, with the added benefits of a radiant barrier. This pin perforated house wrap provides a tested R-value of 3.8, a perm rating of 22.

RRR is a single layer of highly reflective metalized aluminum, laminated to a formulated blend of polyethylene and is pin perforated. This results in a house wrap that acts not only as a superior air infiltration barrier, but it also adds a radiant barrier to the exterior of the home, blocking up to 96% of radiant heat. This results in better year round efficiency and comfort levels. Also, unlike other house wraps or insulating products that are traditionally used, RRR is non-toxic and it’s performance is not affected by extended exposure to the elements.

RRR is typically installed over wood or insulating sheathing, and under siding or other exterior covering. It creates a protective barrier against air infiltration and unwanted liquid moisture.

ADVANTAGES
Increases wall insulation efficiency by 20% + and also stops 96% of radiant heat transfer
Reflects heat out in the summer – reduces air conditioning costs
Reflects heat back inside during the winter – reduces heating costs
Increases overall home comfort, Quick, safe, and easy to install

TYPICAL PROPERTIES
NOMINAL THICKNESS - 0.011”
WEIGHT - 0.42 oz/sq. ft.
FIRE RATIING  - Class 2 / Class B
THERMAL RESISTANCE  - R-3.8 with a 1" airspace
EMISSIVITY -  0.03
WATER VAPOR PERMEABILITY  - 22 Perms
BURST RESISTANCE -  110 kPa
TENSILE STRENGTH (MD/XD)  - 15 MPa / 16 MPa

RRR is an excellent REPLACEMENT for the standard white, blue, pink and grey house wraps. RRR also  provides a " Radiant Barrier Effect " by reflecting 96 % of radiant heat transfer, thereby increasing the Thermal Efficiency of walls. Greater summer and winter Energy Efficiency, LOWER HEATING & COOLING BILLS.

NEED A REFLECTIVE VAPOR BARRIER

RVB is the answer

RVB is identical to RRR except there are NO PERFORATIONS, and is intended to be used as a 96 % REFLECTIVE HEAT & VAPOR BARRIER where indicated.

Reflective Vapor Barrier
RVB is a unique product that gives you the protection of a vapor barrier, with all the benefits of adding reflective insulation to your existing wall assembly. RVB is composed of a single radiant barrier, laminated to a durable polyethylene film for superior strength and flexibility. RVB increases the wall insulation efficiency by 20% and also stops 96% of radiant heat transfer. RVB can be used as a vapor barrier in new construction, as well as in retrofit applications.

ADVANTAGES
Thermal performance unaffected by moisture
Resists tears in all directions
Increases existing insulation performance
Inhibits condensation, mold, and fungi growth.
Durable and flexible polyethylene
Insect and bird resistant

UNWRAP roll at corner, leaving 6” – 12” overlap. Line up with first stud. Roll should be perfectly vertical
  aligned.
Bottom roll edge should extend over sill plate interface at least 2” to 3”.

Secure Reflective Ruff Rap (RRR) every 12” – 18” on vertical stud line. With wood, insulated sheathing board or
exterior gypsum board, use large head or plastic washer
head nails, as a best practice. Wide staples with 1.0” minimum
  crown can also be used

Unroll directly over windows and doors. Upper roll
overlaps bottom roll by 6” horizontally COVER interface of
upper and lower top plates with
Reflective Ruff Rap (RRR). As a best practice, TAPE all
horizontal seams at band joists, headers and roll overlaps with our approved RRR / RVB tape

RRR / RVB Tape Tips:
Repair any accidental tears, damage or penetrations with our approved RRR / RVB tape
For additional strength, tape all corners of any openings prior to cutting/adjusting RRR / RVB product

Recommended ratio: two rolls RRR / RVB Tape to one roll RRR House wrap or RVB
